SUMMARY:Blacksmithing: Learn Fundamentals - 5 Weeks
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this five (5) part basic forging technique series.  This course is designed for beginners to intermediate skill/knowledge. The critical thing to understand about this course is you are creating just about 1 project each week. \n\n\n\nYou will learn or improve basic forging techniques\, the essentials of fire building\, hammering\, drawing out\, upsetting\, punching\, chiseling\, and efficient ways of working with a hammer and anvil. \n\n\n\nWeek 1 begins by learning how to draw tapers of all types and progress into hooks. We aim for you to leave class with 2-3 hooks\, time permitting. \n\n\n\nWeek 2 advances into the twist technique of the metal and continuing to practice skills from Week 1. You will go home with a twist bar sample. \n\n\n\nWeek 3 continues to advance your technique of forging! By end of class you will have forged your leaves onto your hook \n\n\n\nWeek 4 heats up with hot cut splitting where you learn to hot cut metal in both the center of the bar and on the end to leave with a heart shape wall hook. \n\n\n\nWeek 5 will have you wanted to take more classes.
